A police officer is a law employee of a police force whose job is to apprehend suspects and prevent, detect and report any criminal activity. They generally assist the general public and maintain the public order. They have the power to arrest people and detain them if needed for a limited time. Police officers are trained with special duties such as surveillance, child protection, counter-terrorism, VIP protection, and many more. They follow certain investigation techniques to find out major criminal activities such as fraud, rape, murder, and drug trafficking. Most police officers wear a corresponding uniform while others work in plain clothes. In many countries, police officers are given exemptions from certain laws in order to perform their duties. A police officer may use it if it is needed to arrest or detain a person. In many countries, police officers can break road rules to perform their duties. It is law enforcement officers’ responsibility to keep citizens safe and secure
